The DFFB will be holding an open day on 17th November from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
DFFB lecturers from the four specialised courses – Directing, Cinematography, Production and Screenwriting – will give brief thematic introductions to their programmes. Senior faculty members Michael Bertl, Jochen Brunow and Peter Rommel will also be available to answer questions.
In addition to advice on studies and these introductory presentations, the DFFB’s production managers will be inviting visitors to a discussion entitled “Film-making at the Academy: how it works”.
Guided tours around the DFFB will also be on offer. Along with the sound studios, the modern post-production suite will be presented: it covers all the steps in filmmaking from shooting to the digital print, making it possible to produce an entire film in-house.
Cinematography students will be demonstrating some of the DFFB’s camera and light equipment, along with equipment from Arri, who support our work. This will provide an opportunity to address questions about modern cameras, such as the Arri Alexa.
Visitors can enjoy drinks and snacks in the café – with the wonderful view from the roof terrace in the Sony Center thrown in!
We’re looking forward to your visit.
