Nominations for FIRST STEPS Awards 2013

The nominations for the First Steps Awards 2013 have been announced and the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie is pleased to be on the shortlist with two films in the “Full length feature films” category. Samuel Perriard’s SCHWARZER PANTHER (BLACK PANTHER - The Story Of Emilie And Jacob) and David Dietl’s KÖNIG VON DEUTSCHLAND (KING OF GERMANY) are the two DFFB degree films in the running for the prestigious First Steps Awards.

The First Steps Awards, which come with 82,000 Euro prize money, will be awarded in a special gala ceremony on 16th September 2013 in the Theater am Potsdamer Platz. Actress Stefanie Stappenbeck will be the compère for the evening, and musical accompaniment will be provided by the young Berlin Band “Chuckamuck”.

KING OF GERMANY (Director: David Dietl)

The German award for young filmmakers, FIRST STEPS, was created in 1999 by producers Nico Hofmann and Bernd Eichinger as a private film-industry initiative.
