Daria Belova’s KOMM UND SPIEL (COME AND PLAY) has been nominated for the Nationalgalerie Young Film Art Award; the prize-giving ceremony for this second round of the award will be held on 19th September 2013.
The prize, created in 2011, is awarded by the Friends of the Nationalgalerie Association and the German Film Academy, with a view to fostering exchanges between the world of cinema and the fine arts.
The award-winner will be announced at a ceremony held in Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin, with Filmakademie member Franz Dinda as compère. The award-winning film will subsequently be shown in this venue for almost four months in a dedicated screening room. Unlike artists working in the realm of fine arts, young filmmakers cannot rely on increases in the market value of their works. That is why this year the award will for the first time be accompanied by 10,000 Euro prize money to support future film projects by the award-winning filmmakers.
