The news is just out today: two DFFB degree films are among the 27 films nominated for the German Film Critics Awards:

Petting Zoo (Director/Screenplay: Micah Magee, Cinematography: Armin Dierolf, Production: Friederike Steinbeck, Johan Carlsen), is competing with four other films in the Best First Feature Film category and

FADO (Director/Screenplay:Jonas Rothlaender, Screenplay: Sebastian Bleyl, K: Alexander Haßkerl, Production: Luis Singer, Dennis Schanz, Ole Lohmann, Tara Biere) has been nominated in 3 categories (Best Feature Film, Best First Feature Film and Best Actress - Luise Heyer).

With a tradition reaching back over more than 60 years, the German Film Critics Award is the only German film prize awarded exclusively by film critics. It does not apply economic, regional or political criteria, but is awarded solely in the light of artistic merit. It is organised by the Verband der Deutschen Filmkritik e.V. (German Film Critics Association).

The award ceremony will be held on 13th February at this year’s Berlinale and we are already keeping our fingers crossed for both film teams!
