Several DFFB films, as well as films by DFFB lecturers and alumni, are screening at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival, which begins next week.
SELBSTKRITIK EINES BÜRGERLICHEN HUNDES/SELF-CRITICISM OF A BOURGEOIS DOG - Julian Radlmaier’s degree film is the closing film in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino, which showcases emerging German directors.

In addition, HELLE NÄCHTE by DFFB alumnus Thomas Arslan is screening in Competition, as is the new documentary film by DFFB lecturer Andres Veiel,BEUYS
And that’s not all! Films by two other DFFB alumni will be screening too: CASTING by Nicolas Wackerbarth will be presented in the Forum section, and Raoul Peck has two films at this year’s Berlinale – LE JEUNE KARL MARX in the Berlinale Special section and I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO in Panorama.
The latter film was also recently nominated for an Oscar in the Best Documentary category.
EFM screenings at the DFFB-Kino
As part of the European Film Market there will also be market screenings (not open to the general public) of four DFFB films in the DFFB cinema (Filmhaus Sony Center, Potsdamer Straße 2, 9th floor).

Launch event for SHOCK OF THE REAL at Berlinale Talents
From 24th to 26th March, the symposium SHOCK OF THE REAL will be held in the Filmhaus at Potsdamer Platz in cooperation with the film journal REVOLVER, and will examine the importance of reality and truth in film through discussions with filmmakers from Germany, Europe and the USA.
The conversation between DFFB Director Ben Gibson and filmmaker and DFFB alumnus Raoul Peck during the Berlinale Talents event on 16.02. at Hebbel am Ufer – HAU2 is conceived as a launch event for the symposium in cooperation with Berlinale Talents.
