DFFB degree films have received seven nominations for this year’s First Steps Awards.
LOMO (Director: Julia Langhof, Screenplay: Thomas Gerhold, Julia Langhof, Cinematography: Michal Grabowski, Production: Eva Kemme, Martin Heisler) has been nominated in three categories: Full-length Feature Film, Götz George Young Talents Award and Michael Ballhaus Prize for Cinematography Graduates.
Detour (Director: Nina Vukovic, Screenplay: Nina Vukovic, Benjamin Talsik Cinematography: Tobias von dem Borne, Production: Benjamin Talsik) is nominated for Best Full-length Feature Film, as is Selbstkritik eines bürgerlichen Hundes / Self-criticism of a Bourgeois Dog (Director / Screenplay: Julian Radlmaier, Cinematography: Markus Koob, Production: Kirill Krasovskiy).
The prize for the Best Full-length Feature Film is endowed with 25,000 EUR prize money.
WASSER / WATER by Silke Eggert is nominated for the Screenplay Award, which is endowed with 10,000 Euro prize money.
And Liebes Ich / Dear Me (Director / Screenplay: Luise Makarov, Cinematography: Luise Makarov, Production: Jonas Rothlaender) is in the running for the Documentary Film Prize, which is endowed with 12,000 Euro prize money.
The award ceremony for the 18th FIRST STEPS Awards will be held on Monday, 18th. September 2017 at the Theater des Westens in Berlin. The First Steps Awards are the most important awards specifically for young filmmakers in Germany, and offer the highest prize endowments.
