A Berlin-based filmmaker is looking for a gaffer to join a festival-oriented short film project.
The film follows a Turkish immigrant woman in her thirties living in Berlin who loses access to her social media account and slowly unravels while trying to prove her identity. It’s a character-driven, darkly humorous story about identity and belonging.
The project is currently in late pre-production. The core crew is already attached.
Shoot dates: February 9–10–11–12
Location: Berlin (interior apartments + exterior street scenes)
Crew: Small, professional, and collaborative
Responsibilities include:
Lighting design in collaboration with DoP
Setting up and managing lighting equipment on location
Creating naturalistic, surveillance-style lighting setups
Adapting to guerrilla-style shooting when needed
About the project:
Independent short film with a clear festival circulation goal
Small-scale but professionally run set
Intimate working environment with a committed creative team
This is a non-paid passion project, ideal for someone interested in independent filmmaking, festival-focused shorts, or gaining hands-on experience within a serious but modestly scaled production.
If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to get in touch with a short introduction and any relevant experience.
