🎬 Dance Film – Graduation Project Call for Collaborators
🌿 Overview
This is a deeply personal 7–10-minute dance film that unfolds in five emotive stages, each a memory, a transformation, a fragment of self. It is inspired by my own experiences and Nietzsche’s concept of the eternal return—the idea that life loops in infinite recurrence, beautiful and painful, again and again.
The narrative is non-linear and expressed through dance and visuals, accompanied by an internal voiceover blending memory with motion.
🌀 Concept Breakdown
Each section has its own emotional rhythm, visual identity, and movement language:
Birth – fluid, innocent, exploratory; warmth and wonder.
Exploration & Wound – curiosity clashing with harsh reality.
Struggle (Fight) – resistance, tension, being bound (rope motif).
Void / Rediscovery – fatigue, reflection, recognition of self.
Acceptance / Rebirth – surrender, renewal, circular resolution.
🎭 For the Dancer
We’re seeking a highly expressive mover, comfortable with emotional storytelling through contemporary/modern dance.
You’ll be interacting with textures like soil, red fabric, and props such as rope.
You’ll perform in a studio setting with cinematic lighting, and your body will become the canvas of this internal journey.
Must be open to creative collaboration and improvisation.
🎥 For the Cinematographer
Looking for someone who can translate emotion into imagery, capturing both the intimacy of movement and the abstraction of memory.
Visual motifs: high-contrast lighting, projections, soil, red fabric, and rope.
Experience with studio lighting, close-up movement capture, and working with voiceovers or experimental narrative is a plus.
Collaboration on shot design and visual storytelling is welcome and encouraged.
