UNPAID. We’re cas­ting for roles (inclu­ding two leads) in our inten­se, cha­rac­ter-dri­ven short film RAY & CASS pro­du­ced as part of the Cata­lyst Film School pro­gram.

RAY & CASS is a raw, noc­turnal odys­sey — an unre­len­ting jour­ney through a sin­gle night. Cass, unhin­ged and des­truc­ti­ve, careens through the city, biting stran­gers and ste­al­ing from the hel­p­less. Ray, drawn to him like a moth to a fla­me, lights match­sticks in a ner­vous ritu­al, test­ing fate. Their paths intert­wi­ne in sto­len cars, flee­ting moments of inti­ma­cy, and vio­lent out­bursts — a twis­ted bond for­ged from shared despe­ra­ti­on. In the back­ground, a home­l­ess pro­phet chants about divi­ne melo­dies, as faith col­l­i­des with cha­os.

This is an *unpaid stu­dent pro­ject* – the team is working on a vol­un­t­a­ry basis. Food, good ener­gy, and a dedi­ca­ted crew gua­ran­teed!

All appli­cants should feel com­for­ta­ble acting in Eng­lish.

LEAD ROLES

CASS (Male Lead)
**Play­ing Age: 18–22

Vola­ti­le, magne­tic, emo­tio­nal­ly chao­tic. A mix of boy­ish charm and dan­ge­rous unpre­dic­ta­bi­li­ty. Deep­ly woun­ded with a twis­ted sen­se of jus­ti­ce. Con­stant­ly test­ing others, pushing boun­da­ries.

**Requi­re­ments:
Com­for­ta­ble with inten­se phy­si­cal­i­ty and emo­tio­nal extre­mes.

**Key Sce­nes Include:
– Con­fron­ta­ti­ons and phy­si­cal action (biting, fight­ing)
– Simu­la­ted drug use
– Psy­cho­lo­gi­cal break­downs
– Inten­se silent ten­si­on with fema­le lead

RAY (Fema­le Lead)
**Play­ing Age: 20–28

Car­ri­es trau­ma in her eyes. Once full of light, now dim­med by life and addic­tion. She exists bet­ween sub­mis­si­on and rebel­li­on. A fra­gi­le yet powerful pre­sence.

**Key Sce­nes Include:
– Sce­nes in lin­ge­rie
– Simu­la­ted drug use
– Emo­tio­nal mono­lo­gues and phy­si­cal con­fron­ta­ti­ons
– Inten­se silent ten­si­on with male lead

SUPPORTING ROLES

PREACHER (M, 50–70)
Street pro­phet. Eccen­tric. Stran­ge yet sin­ce­re. Mono­lo­gue-hea­vy.

CRACKHEAD (M, 30–50)
Despe­ra­te. Erra­tic. Raw, expres­si­ve phy­si­cal acting.

DEALER (M, 25–35)
Slick. Inten­se. Cha­ris­ma­tic, poe­tic ener­gy.
