When a mother and her daughter find themselves in a financial and emotional crisis after a recent tragedy, the two women are forced to make impossible decisions.
SISTER (16-25): Lead role. All ethnicities.
Sister is the 17-year-old protagonist of the narrative short film No Beautiful Things. Native English is required. More information available upon request. She’s a seemingly quiet, naïve dreamer who is planning to leave her family.
MOTHER (40-59): Major supporting role/Co-Lead. All ethnicities.
Mother is the 50-year-old mother of Sister. Native English is a strong requirement.
Fragile in appearance, but with a quiet steel beneath the surface. With a strong mind of her own, she is ready to do whatever it takes to save her family.
BROTHER (16-28): VOICE ONLY. Major supporting role. Native English required. All ethnicities. Intimate, soft, calm voice.
Brother is Sister’s brother and son of Mother. Even though he doesn’t physically appear in the film, his voice has a key role in it. Voice over artists welcome.
BOSS (40-55): Supporting character. Native English required.
Boss is Mother’s former boss and has a key role in the film.
FRIEND (16-26): Supporting role. Native English is required. All ethnicities.
FATHER (45-60): Small supporting role with no dialogue. No language requirements. All ethnicities. Father is Mother’s husband and father of Sister and Brother.
