Which chal\u00adlenges do we face in terms of age dis\u00adcrim\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion in cast\u00ading and hir\u00ading? How does ageism deter\u00admine the choic\u00ades we make as writ\u00aders, direc\u00adtors and pro\u00adduc\u00aders? And will we ever grow out of our obses\u00adsion with youth?<\/p>\n<p>Dur\u00ading out pan\u00adel we will take a clos\u00ader look at the rep\u00adre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion of age in cin\u00ade\u00adma, speak about the ways in which ageism lim\u00adits careers and dis\u00adcuss pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties to shift the nar\u00adra\u00adtive around aging.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pan\u00adelists<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nata\u0161a Pivec is a cre\u00adative aca\u00add\u00ade\u00adm\u00adic, born in Slove\u00adnia, now liv\u00ading in Berlin since 2017. Got her Ph.D. degree<span class=\"text_exposed_show\"> in soci\u00adol\u00ado\u00adgy of gen\u00adder at Fac\u00adul\u00adty of Social Sci\u00adences (Ljubl\u00adjana, Slove\u00adnia), which focused on Oth\u00ader\u00ading and film. Has pub\u00adlished sev\u00ader\u00adal aca\u00add\u00ade\u00adm\u00adic papers on sex\u00adism, ageism and pop\u00adu\u00adlar media, runs her own blog \u201cthe Oth\u00ader mat\u00adters\u201d and lec\u00adtured at sev\u00ader\u00adal insti\u00adtu\u00adtions (among oth\u00aders, HU Berlin). Ex-jour\u00adnal\u00adist, copy\u00adwriter, DJ, but cur\u00adrent cul\u00adtur\u00adal ana\u00adlyst, film work\u00ader, lec\u00adtur\u00ader, researcher and con\u00adsul\u00adtant.<br>\n<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1rem\" href=\"http:\/\/theothermatters.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">theother\u200bmat\u200bters\u200b.net<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Gre\u00adta Amend&nbsp;is a ger\u00adman actress, direc\u00adtor, lec\u00adtur\u00ader, researcher, for\u00admer cast\u00ading direc\u00adtor, artist, and pro\u00adduc\u00ader for film and the\u00adatre. She has been teach\u00ading actors and direc\u00adtors in euro\u00adpean film and the\u00adatre schools, such as the Nation\u00adal Dan\u00adish Film School, the Dan\u00adish Nation\u00adal School of Per\u00adform\u00ading arts in Copen\u00adhagen, the Actors Cen\u00adter, Oslo, and the Ger\u00adman Film and Tele\u00advi\u00adsion Acad\u00ade\u00admy Berlin (DFFB). She stud\u00adied direct\u00ading at the Ger\u00adman Film an Tele\u00advi\u00adsion Acad\u00ade\u00admy Berlin, her grad\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion film&nbsp;<em>G\u00f6lge <\/em>(1980) is con\u00adsid\u00adered an ear\u00adly pre\u00adcur\u00adsor of Ger\u00adman-Turk\u00adish cin\u00ade\u00adma. Since then, she has direct\u00aded sev\u00ader\u00adal fea\u00adture films, taught at the Bil\u00adgi Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty in Istan\u00adbul and been a fes\u00adti\u00adval jury mem\u00adber. In 2013 she won the Gold\u00aden Tulip as Best Actress at the Istan\u00adbul Film Fes\u00adti\u00adval and worked as an actress with direc\u00adtors such as Hel\u00adma Sanders-Brahms, Tun\u00adcel Cur\u00adtiz, Sinan Akku\u0219 and Hakan Sava\u015f Mican.
