This pro\u00adgramme, titled Editing\/\u200bSound, joins the exist\u00ading four DFFB pro\u00adgrammes: Direct\u00ading, Pro\u00adduc\u00ading, Cin\u00ade\u00admatog\u00adra\u00adphy, and Screen\u00adwrit\u00ading.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dffb.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Application-Tasks_Editing_Sound-2018_2019.pdf\">Appli\u00adca\u00adtion Tasks Editing\/\u200bSound 2018\/\u200b2019<\/a> are the first steps for apply\u00ading.&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/montage.application.dffb.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Our appli\u00adca\u00adtion plat\u00adform opens 22nd May 2018<\/a>. <\/strong>Appli\u00adca\u00adtions must be sub\u00admit\u00adted <strong>by 7 June 2018<\/strong>. The entrance exam\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion will take place in Berlin dur\u00ading the week of 9 July\u201313 July 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The first year of stud\u00adies is the same for all DFFB stu\u00addents: the cur\u00adricu\u00adlum is gen\u00ader\u00adal\u00adist. Dur\u00ading this time, the the\u00ado\u00adret\u00adi\u00adcal and prac\u00adti\u00adcal foun\u00adda\u00adtions are laid for future col\u00adlab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtions between the dif\u00adfer\u00adent dis\u00adci\u00adplines. Through\u00adout the course of stud\u00adies, the bound\u00adaries between these dis\u00adci\u00adplines remain open \u2013 stu\u00addents become well-round\u00aded film\u00admak\u00aders. They devel\u00adop a holis\u00adtic under\u00adstand\u00ading of cin\u00ade\u00adma and gain spe\u00adcialised knowl\u00adedge rel\u00ade\u00advant to their indi\u00advid\u00adual dis\u00adci\u00adplines. Under\u00adstand\u00ading all stages of film\u00admak\u00ading is an essen\u00adtial part of the DFFB\u2019s teach\u00ading phi\u00adlos\u00ado\u00adphy. Through work\u00ading togeth\u00ader on film projects, stu\u00addents test film\u00admak\u00ading the\u00ado\u00adries to see what works best for them.<\/p>\n<p>Editing\/\u200bsound stu\u00addents will ben\u00ade\u00adfit from this struc\u00adture. From the onset of their stud\u00adies and dur\u00ading the course of each project in which they par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpate, they are con\u00adsid\u00adered equal part\u00adners to their direct\u00ading, pro\u00adduc\u00ading, cin\u00ade\u00admatog\u00adra\u00adphy, and screen\u00adwrit\u00ading peers. Editing\/\u200bsound stu\u00addents con\u00adtribute to sto\u00adry devel\u00adop\u00adment, under\u00adstand the cin\u00ade\u00admat\u00adic ele\u00adments of dra\u00admatur\u00adgy, and are able to assess the qual\u00adi\u00adty of an actor\u2019s per\u00adfor\u00admance. Fur\u00adther\u00admore, they have knowl\u00adedge in the fields of music, sound design, art his\u00adto\u00adry, and, above all, film edit\u00ading.<\/p>\n<p>Through film edit\u00ading and sound design sem\u00adi\u00adnars, editing\/\u200bsound stu\u00addents acquire film\u00admak\u00ading tools and meth\u00adods for their own prac\u00adtice. Work\u00ading on col\u00adlab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtive film projects is at the core of the DFFB\u2019s teach\u00ading phi\u00adlos\u00ado\u00adphy. For editing\/\u200bsound stu\u00addents, the cut\u00adting room is the ulti\u00admate class\u00adroom \u2013 it is where con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adtions with peers and teach\u00ading staff take place. Through the process of edit\u00ading, the cin\u00ade\u00admat\u00adic pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties of image and sound are expe\u00adri\u00adenced and exam\u00adined.
