It is with a heavy heart that the DFFB says good\u00adbye to its alum\u00adnus and for\u00admer lec\u00adtur\u00ader David Sla\u00adma. The film\u00admak\u00ader died on Octo\u00adber 15 at the age of 74.<\/p>\n

After study\u00ading with Michael Ball\u00adhaus and Peter Stein at the DFFB in Berlin, David Sla\u00adma worked as a cin\u00ade\u00admatog\u00adra\u00adph\u00ader on more than 80 fea\u00adture and tele\u00advi\u00adsion films, col\u00adlab\u00ado\u00adrat\u00ading with Luc Bondy, Rein\u00adhard Hauff, Harun Faroc\u00adki, and Mar\u00adtin Scors\u00adese, among oth\u00aders. He is right\u00adly con\u00adsid\u00adered one of the most impor\u00adtant cin\u00ade\u00admatog\u00adra\u00adphers in Ger\u00adman-lan\u00adguage film.<\/p>\n

Par\u00adal\u00adlel to his artis\u00adtic work, David Sla\u00adma taught at the DFFB, the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Ham\u00adburg, the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Applied Sci\u00adences Dort\u00admund, and the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Applied Sci\u00adences Han\u00adnover. In 2010, he was appoint\u00aded cin\u00ade\u00admatog\u00adra\u00adphy pro\u00adfes\u00adsor at IFS Cologne. He was a mem\u00adber of the Ger\u00adman Film Acad\u00ade\u00admy.<\/p>\n
