The Board of Trustees con\u00adfirmed her appoint\u00adment dur\u00ading its meet\u00ading on June 25, 2025 \u2013 fol\u00adlow\u00ading the rec\u00adom\u00admen\u00adda\u00adtion of the selec\u00adtion com\u00admit\u00adtee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Levi, it is a return to her old place of work: she her\u00adself stud\u00adied at the DFFB from 1985 to 1991. Since then, she has been active as a film\u00admak\u00ader, her works have screened at inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal fes\u00adti\u00advals, in exhi\u00adbi\u00adtions and in cin\u00ade\u00admas \u2014 and have received numer\u00adous awards. Levi works across gen\u00adres, with a strong focus on socio-polit\u00adi\u00adcal and his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal themes. Her sig\u00adna\u00adture style is unmis\u00adtak\u00adable: com\u00adplex mon\u00adtages of dif\u00adfer\u00adent per\u00adspec\u00adtives and mate\u00adri\u00adals \u2014 includ\u00ading film, video, audio, pho\u00adtog\u00adra\u00adphy and texts, often from archives of var\u00adi\u00adous ori\u00adgins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ange\u00adli\u00adka Levi has been a pro\u00adfes\u00adsor of film at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Gestal\u00adtung in Offen\u00adbach am Main since 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deci\u00adsion to estab\u00adlish an Artis\u00adtic Direc\u00adtor\u00adship at the DFFB with\u00adout exec\u00adu\u00adtive man\u00adage\u00adment respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties was made by the Board of Trustees in Decem\u00adber 2024. The posi\u00adtion was pub\u00adlicly adver\u00adtised in Feb\u00adru\u00adary 2025, and the appli\u00adca\u00adtion process ran until mid-March. A sev\u00aden-mem\u00adber selec\u00adtion com\u00admit\u00adtee \u2013 con\u00adsist\u00ading of rep\u00adre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtives from the Board of Trustees, lec\u00adtur\u00aders, stu\u00addents, staff, and the man\u00adag\u00ading direc\u00adtor \u2013 reviewed a wide range of high\u00adly qual\u00adi\u00adfied appli\u00adca\u00adtions.
