{"id":52345,"date":"2025-08-21T11:31:44","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T09:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dffb.de\/?p=52345"},"modified":"2025-09-08T17:00:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T15:00:10","slug":"four-nominations-of-dffb-films-at-first-steps-in-7-categories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dffb.de\/en\/four-nominations-of-dffb-films-at-first-steps-in-7-categories\/","title":{"rendered":"Sev\u00aden nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtions for four DFFB Films at First Steps in 7 cat\u00ade\u00adgories"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Great news: Four DFFB grad\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion films have been nom\u00adi\u00adnat\u00aded this year for one of the pres\u00adti\u00adgious FIRST STEPS Awards \u2014 in the cat\u00ade\u00adgories Fea\u00adture Length Film, Doc\u00adu\u00admen\u00adtary Film, Screen\u00adplay, the Michael Ball\u00adhaus Award, and the G\u00f6tz George New\u00adcom\u00ader Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fol\u00adlow\u00ading films are nom\u00adi\u00adnat\u00aded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fea\u00adture film <strong>THE GOOD SISTER<\/strong> by Sarah Miro Fis\u00adch\u00ader has received nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtions in three cat\u00ade\u00adgories: Fea\u00adture Length Film, Screen\u00adplay (Agnes Petersen), and the Michael Ball\u00adhaus Award for Best Cin\u00ade\u00admatog\u00adra\u00adphy (Sel\u00adma von Pol\u00adheim Gravesen). The film tells the sto\u00adry of the intense bond between Rose and her old\u00ader broth\u00ader Sam. When Sam is accused of rape and Rose is called to tes\u00adti\u00adfy as a wit\u00adness, their sib\u00adling rela\u00adtion\u00adship is put to a severe test \u2014 as is Rose\u2019s moral com\u00adpass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>THE GOOD SISTER<\/em> cel\u00ade\u00adbrat\u00aded its world pre\u00admiere in the Panora\u00adma sec\u00adtion of this year\u2019s Berli\u00adnale and is cur\u00adrent\u00adly tour\u00ading suc\u00adcess\u00adful\u00adly at inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal fes\u00adti\u00advals, includ\u00ading San Sebasti\u00e1n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UNGEDULD DES HERZENS<\/strong> by Lau\u00adro Cress has been nom\u00adi\u00adnat\u00aded in the cat\u00ade\u00adgories Fea\u00adture Length Film and the G\u00f6tz George New\u00adcom\u00ader Award (Lad\u00adi\u00adna von Frisching). At its cen\u00adter is a young Bun\u00addeswehr sol\u00addier who, out of shame, pity, and a deep need for recog\u00adni\u00adtion, feigns roman\u00adtic feel\u00adings for a par\u00ada\u00adlyzed woman \u2014 even giv\u00ading her hope of recov\u00adery. But as her grow\u00ading mis\u00adtrust clash\u00ades with his increas\u00ading obses\u00adsion to \u201csave\u201d her, they are drawn into a dan\u00adger\u00adous spi\u00adral that near\u00adly ends in tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The film, like <em>THE GOOD SISTER<\/em>, was pro\u00adduced as part of the Leucht\u00adstoff ini\u00adtia\u00adtive by rbb and Medi\u00aden\u00adboard Berlin-Bran\u00adden\u00adburg. Already at the Max Oph\u00fcls Preis Film Fes\u00adti\u00adval in Saar\u00adbr\u00fcck\u00aden, <em>UNGEDULD DES HERZENS<\/em> won the main award as well as both act\u00ading prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mul\u00adti-award-win\u00adning film <strong>ABODE OF DAWN<\/strong> by Kristi\u00adna Shtu\u00adbert, also a Leucht\u00adstoff project, is nom\u00adi\u00adnat\u00aded in the Doc\u00adu\u00admen\u00adtary Film cat\u00ade\u00adgo\u00adry. The film fol\u00adlows the dream of a new soci\u00adety deep in the Siber\u00adian taiga. It pre\u00admiered at DOK Leipzig 2024 and went on to win the Next:Wave Award at CPH:DOX as well as the Ursu\u00adla Bick\u00adle Foun\u00adda\u00adtion Award at dokka:12&nbsp;in Karl\u00adsruhe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last but not least, <strong>MY BOYFRIEND EL FASCISTA<\/strong> by Matthias Lint\u00adner is also nom\u00adi\u00adnat\u00aded in the Doc\u00adu\u00admen\u00adtary Film cat\u00ade\u00adgo\u00adry. The film sheds light on how per\u00adson\u00adal rela\u00adtion\u00adships can suf\u00adfer under polit\u00adi\u00adcal ten\u00adsions: when the direc\u00adtor and his part\u00adner col\u00adlide over their oppos\u00ading polit\u00adi\u00adcal views, their love is put to the ulti\u00admate test.
