you are invited to join for the screening of MADAME (2018) and Q&A with filmmaker Stéphane Riethauser on next wednesday the 30.11. It will be at 8pm in the filmArche, Lahnstrasse 25, 12055 Berlin.

About the film:
A family saga based on private archive footage spanning three generations, MADAME delves into the intimate relationship between Caroline, a flamboyant grandmother, and her filmmaker grandson Stéphane. The dialogue between this matriarchal guardian figure and his gay grandson explores the development and transmission of gender identity in a patriarchal world that is hostile to difference. French with english subtitles

About the director:
Stéphane Riethauser was born in 1972 in Geneva. Law degree from the University of Geneva. Teacher, gay activist, photographer, journalist, translator, director. Author of „A visage découvert“, a collection of photographic portraits on coming out (Ed. Slatkine, 2000) as well as numerous reports for the RTS (2003-2008). Since 2009, he lives and works between Geneva and Berlin as an independent director and producer under the banner of his company Lambda Prod.
