This introduction workshop is perfect for actors who are curious to learn and embody the mVm Miller Voice Method®, a breath and voice-centered acting technique that facilitates a more present, charismatic, responsive, flexible, and resilient physical instrument. https://www.millervoicemethod.com/
Teachers: Scott Miller, Founder, mVm Miller Voice Method & Arts Professor, NYU Tisch Graduate Acting, NYC & Kristi Dana, Director, mVm Miller Voice Method & Associate Professor, Voice & Speech, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX
In this workshop, Scott and Kristi will guide actors through an embodiment of the bedrock of mVm, the Active Breath. Through a series of physical exercises, actors will discover how to integrate the Active Breath with text, diagnose breath habits that may be sabotaging preparation and performance work, and discover the flow that brings audiences into a state of suspense.
Explore how to use breath as a tool for impulsive, expressive, spontaneous and present acting! mVm is offered in premiere performance training institutions in the United States, as well as by mVm teachers in Australia and Finland.
