Tri­umph for DFFB Alum­ni Francesco Sos­sai and Cecil­ia Trautvet­ter at the David di Donatel­lo Awards 2026

We warm­ly con­grat­u­late alum­nus Francesco Sos­sai and alum­na Cecil­ia Trautvet­ter on the extra­or­di­nary suc­cess of their lat­est fea­ture film LE CITTÀ DI PIANURA (THE LAST ONE FOR THE ROAD) at Italy’s pre­mier film awards, the David di Donatel­lo Awards 2026.

As the evening’s major win­ner, the film received a total of eight awards, includ­ing the top hon­ors for Best Film and Best Direc­tor for Francesco Sos­sai. Addi­tion­al awards includ­ed Best Pro­duc­tion for Cecil­ia Trautvet­ter and the pro­duc­ing team, Best Screen­play, Best Edit­ing, and Best Lead­ing Actor for Ser­gio Romano, among oth­ers. Enter­ing the cer­e­mo­ny with an impres­sive 16 nom­i­na­tions, LE CITTÀ DI PIANURA more than lived up to its sta­tus as one of the most cel­e­brat­ed Ital­ian films of the year.
