A very hot afternoon in Berlin; schools are closed. Two sisters, Malin and Sophia, are stuck in their stuffy apartment constantly on the verge of boredom. While Sophia does not want to be disturbed reading, her little sister tries to get her attention by telling her that she has forgotten her toy penguin Pomito at school. The two of them invent possible scenarios for the penguin and send him on a journey that takes him through the empty school building and on an accidental trip on the garbage truck, which finally brings him to the real penguins at the zoo.

Nico

NICO (33), German-Persian, emancipated and happy, is the most popular geriatric nurse for her patients. With her best friend ROSA (37), she enjoys the summer in Berlin. A xenophobic attack tears the self-confident NICO from its self-determined everyday life. Waking up in the hospital, she realizes that she doesn't seem to be a part of it after all. Plagued by scraps of memories of the attack, NICO isolates herself more and more. Not only does ROSA lose all relation to her, her patients also do not recognize the - once so happy woman - . Nico knows that it can't go on like this and makes a decision: She gets help from ANDY - the loud karate world champion. NICO allows itself to be motivated in its military way, thereby even regaining self-confidence. Because she is mingling with people again, NICO meets the Macedonian woman RONNY (30) at a fair. RONNY recognizes NICO immediately. Where and why, NICO will understand as the film progresses, and as the film progresses, she will have to ask herself how she deals with the anger and helplessness that the attack has created in her.
