Katja, an almost 30 years old actress from Berlin, is about to premiere Tchehovs 'Seagull'. She's torn between the reality of the play and the difficult relations to the various people around her. Katja has just broken up her relationship with Lars - her old love from the theater school, and she's involved into an affair with the director of the play she's acting in. Katja is also in conflict with her religious parents, whose perception of the reality is different to her own. Daughter of a Polish mother and a German father she tries to break the „ancient“ chains. Then Katja meets a French dreamer who shows her another point of view for life. She will have to make the choice, trying to find out what her profession is based on -is it only her work or her true vocation? And if it’s the latter, how much is Katja ready to sacrifice?
