Looking after number one
The movie is a very direct view into the rehearsal room, where the theatre director Peter Zadek and his actors are just about to invent the staging of Peer Gynt and accompanies the dramatic process until the first night.
The theme of Hendrik Ibsen’s play “being oneself” is as well part of the fight between Zadek and his actors for authenticity in acting.
There are no interviews explaining Zadek’s working methods but just the direct view on the situation between the directors and actors. The viewer gets the possibility to understand the process of their work and to experience the result of it while coming into being.
