The Last Man In Renow

Richard, a 40 year old farmer has lived all his life in Renow, Brandenburg where the only attractions are a red-light bar and the small village church, dreams of a life in Las Vegas. When he drunkenly shoots the brother of imprisoned Branco, leader of the dreaded motorcycle gang “Death Raisers”, he digs his own grave because Branco is shortly to be released and swears bloody revenge. Leiche has, meanwhile, taken over the leader’s jacket and prepares the village for a showdown. Those who have not left the village years ago quickly start leaving now. Richard can only count on Marie, whose life he had once saved. In the barn, Richard and Branco, the two protagonists, meet and discover that they aren’t really in control of the situation.

Inner City

Construction workers Marcin and Jan finished their job on a construction in no man's land. Down-to-earth Marcin persuades his dreamy colleage Jan to do an excursion to the city center. The different views onto the city collide at bus stops and in busses. While Marcin wants to explain his colleage which side a construction worker´s bread is buttered on, Jan is affected by observations and impressions. A specials mood arises which is only possible while travelling through the foreign city. The conversation sweeps to collecting mushrooms and the forests of childhood holidays, until they have a shared moment at the destination of their short trip.

Jonathan James Thomas Highlane

I really don’t remember when I first met him – he’s my half-brother, after all. But I can count my memories of Thomas on the fingers of two hands. I remember that feeling I used to get when he came to visit us - that there was someone more like me than anyone else I know.

“DELAY” is a five-minute film that observes the infectious impact of encounters between strangers. After an excessive outburst of verbal violence which may be equated with a physical violation, the female protagonist is therefore dependant to transform her rage into physical energy by breathing it away. Kathi (Stephanie Stremler) wants to make it as an actress in Berlin. However, her slow quirky manner doesn't go down well in this line of business. She is the opposite of her controlled mother Chris (Susanne Lothar), a successful “life coach” undermining Kathi's attempts at independence. When Kathi has to give up her 4-year-old son for a short while, Chris seizes the moment and takes her daughter's child away. Furthermore, Kathi's father Wolfgang (Michael Kind) suddenly appears because he wants to win back his ex, Chris. Kathi is immediately caught in the middle of her parents. Wolfgang reminds the family of their past until mother and daughter can no longer suppress their conflict. Finally, Kathi manages to confront her mother.

Festivities

Helga and Kurt. We are amidst family, and a special one indeed. Before Christmas Eve, the two grandparents prepare for their family to come and visit them, and they do so in a very unique way. As the day comes closer, the arrangements become increasingly complicated. Small things turn into great ordeals. Decorating the Christmas tree can be one of the biggest challenges you may ever encounter. At its core, this is a kind and warmhearted portrayal of two marvelous people and the amazing strength of character of the old age, with a very humorous touch.
