Cooperations

The following applies to all of our cooperations: There are external partners and diverse networking opportunities as well as a view beyond the end of one's nose.

The DFFB has always been international, not only in terms of where its students come from, but also in its exchange with film schools outside Germany. There are connections with the London Film School, La Femis in Paris, Columbia University of the Arts in New York, California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, FAMU in Prague as well as the State Academy of Film, Television and Theatre "Leon Schiller", Łódź.

Memberships

The DFFB is a member of CILECT, the International Association of Film and Television Schools, the European association GEECT and the regional network of the media and digital industry media:net berlinbrandenburg e.V..

Cooperations

Projects that go beyond the curriculum can be realised with external partners.

Fresh Craft Series

In 2019/20, DFFB students developed and produced a web series together with students from the National Film and Television Institute (Ghana) and the Maisha Film Lab (Uganda), which can now be seen online on arte: TALES FROM THE BLUE BUS - GESCHICHTEN AUS ACCRA.

The group was supported and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Deutsche Welle Academy. Jürgen Seidler directed the project from the DFFB side.

INTO THE WILD

INTO THE WILD is a one-year mentoring programme for young female filmmakers from all film schools in Germany, initiated by director Isabell Šuba. The aim is to connect female filmmakers with future colleagues from the film business in the final phase of their studies or shortly after graduation.
