Call for Sound Recor­dist /​ Sound Artist

For my inde­pen­dent short dance art film *Sen­se of Place*, I am loo­king for a sound recor­dist or sound artist to cap­tu­re phy­si­cal and atmo­sphe­ric sounds during the film­ing of a dance per­for­mance.

Shoo­ting peri­od: 18–23 August 2026
Avai­la­bi­li­ty nee­ded: One half-day (approx. 4–5 hours) during this peri­od
Loca­ti­on: Ufer­stu­di­os, Ber­lin

The focus is on recor­ding the phy­si­cal and atmo­sphe­ric qua­li­ties of the per­for­mance, inclu­ding:

- body move­ment and foot­s­teps
– breathing
– costume/​fabric sounds
– inter­ac­tions with the space
– room tone and atmo­sphe­re of the loca­ti­on
– other subt­le phy­si­cal sound tex­tures

The recor­dings will beco­me mate­ri­al for the film’s sound design.

Requi­re­ments:

- Own recor­ding equip­ment pre­fer­red (por­ta­ble recor­der, micro­pho­nes, etc.)
– Expe­ri­ence with sound recor­ding, field recor­ding, sound art, dance, theat­re, or film is wel­co­me
– Abili­ty to deli­ver high-qua­li­ty WAV files

Wenn ihr eine Mut­ter, eine Tan­te oder sogar eine Omi habt, die schon immer ein­mal bei einer Film­pro­duk­ti­on mit­ma­chen woll­te, das ist ihre Chan­ce!☺️ Sie kön­nen sogar ihre Freund*innen mit­brin­gen und sich dann bei uns mel­den, damit wir gemein­sam eine tol­le Zeit im Park haben!
In der Sze­ne wür­det ihr *auf einer Wie­se im Park zwi­schen alten Möbeln Schach spie­len*.

Ihr müss­tet *euer Kos­tüm selbst mit­brin­gen*, bevor­zug­te Far­ben dafür sind Pas­tell­far­ben, hel­les gelb, hel­les oran­ge, hel­les lila und beige aber auch rosa, pink, dunk­les lila und blau. Klei­der und Röcke sind vor allem sehr gut geeig­net! Ich habe unser Pitch­deck ange­hängt, falls ihr einen genaue­ren Ein­blick in das Pro­jekt möch­tet.

Ich habe bereits als Kind und Jugend­li­che im Thea­ter und selbst­ge­dreh­ten Fil­men geschau­spie­lert, jedoch hat es mich beruf­lich in eine ande­re Rich­tung ver­schla­gen. I’m an artist buil­ding a cine­ma­tic uni­ver­se — an ori­gi­nal series, music vide­os, a social media world, and a mem­ber­ship plat­form, all one con­nec­ted sto­ry. Not cor­po­ra­te reel-fil­ler, not an agen­cy job whe­re someone else owns the visi­on. Whoe­ver joins gets real crea­ti­ve owner­ship — your own ear, your own voice, sha­ping how this world actual­ly sounds.

Right now I’m loo­king for a sound desi­gner for our teaser and trai­ler. The series its­elf is most­ly alre­a­dy shot and in post, so this is whe­re the sonic iden­ti­ty actual­ly gets defi­ned right now — sound design here is not an aftert­hought, it’s a real crea­ti­ve role.

Down the line, once we move into the series its­elf, I’ll also be loo­king to bring on a com­po­ser to build the score along­side the sound design.

I care less about „one skill, per­fect­ly polished“ and more about ran­ge — if sound design is your main thing but you’­re also strong some­whe­re else (score, mixing, wha­te­ver), that’s exact­ly the kind of per­son I want working clo­se­ly with me long-term, not a one-off hire.

You can spend the next year mixing other people’s foo­ta­ge nobo­dy remem­bers, or help defi­ne what an enti­re cine­ma­tic uni­ver­se sounds like.

It’s paid work — I won’t pre­tend it’s the big-bud­get kind yet. What it actual­ly is: get­ting in ear­ly on some­thing built to grow a lot, and gro­wing with it.

Still stu­dy­ing or just gra­dua­ted is com­ple­te­ly fine — I care about tas­te and hun­ger more than years of expe­ri­ence.

Loo­king for expe­ri­en­ced actors that are inte­res­ted in lear­ning a new and inno­va­ti­ve rehear­sal pro­cess to per­for­mance. Bry­son is cha­ris­ma­tic, impul­si­ve, and con­stant­ly cha­sing the next gre­at night out. He suf­fers from chro­nic FOMO and always seems to have ano­ther par­ty, ano­ther plan, or ano­ther opi­ni­on. He con­fi­dent­ly backs up almost ever­y­thing he says with some­thing he lear­ned on Tik­Tok, whe­ther it is true or not. Beneath the con­fi­dence is someone still figu­ring out who he is. US-Ame­ri­can, or can do a belie­va­ble dialect.

Male | Ger­man | Play­ing Age: Ear­ly to Mid For­ties

Recent­ly divorced and recent­ly out, Jonas is dis­co­ve­ring life as a gay man later than expec­ted.
Thoughtful, kind, and quiet­ly fun­ny, he is com­for­ta­ble with hims­elf but never the lou­dest per­son in the room. He approa­ches Berlin’s que­er world with curio­si­ty, sin­ce­ri­ty, and a wil­ling­ness to start over.

Tiff is Bryson’s best fri­end, neigh­bor, and the first per­son who made Ber­lin feel like home. Newl/​ enga­ged. Hal­lo ich bin Luca und stu­die­re Mode im 4.Semester und habe die­ses Wochen­en­de (prä­fe­riert) oder nächs­te Woche mein Foto­shoo­ting für 2 Looks. Ich wür­de auch ger­ne wäh­rend des Shoo­tings ein paar snip­pets für einen Fashion­film dre­hen, idea­ler­wei­se bräuch­te ich jeman­den, der auch eine gut funk­tio­nie­ren­de Video­ka­me­ra hat. Mei­ne Foto­gra­fin hat mir lei­der sehr kurz­fris­tig abge­sagt, des­halb der kur­ze Vor­lauf… Wenn das Shoo­ting die­ses Wochen­en­de wäre, hät­te ich wahr­schein­lich einen Foto­gra­fen dabei, der aber kei­ne Vide­os macht.
In klei­ner Kurz­fas­sung: in den Looks wer­den Quer­flö­ten- und Par­ti­tur­ele­men­te auf­ge­grif­fen, da das The­ma der Looks ist, dass das Musi­zie­ren einen in schwie­ri­gen Situa­tio­nen wie­der auf­mun­tern kann und irgend­wie auch beru­hi­gend wirkt. Wie in einer Sym­pho­nie, bei der aus einer Span­nung ein Kon­flikt ent­steht, der aber am Ende wie­der auf­ge­löst wird, wirkt das Musi­zie­ren auf­lö­send im All­tag. Die Klei­dung soll qua­si eine trag­ba­re Sym­pho­nie dar­stel­len.
Bei Inter­es­se kann ich auch Bil­der von den Looks und der Loca­ti­on schi­cken!
Da ich Stu­den­tin bin habe ich lei­der kein gro­ßes Bud­get und könn­te des­halb nur 50€ zah­len, ich weiß das ist sehr wenig, Anfahrts­kos­ten wür­den aber natür­lich auch gedeckt wer­den!

Ich bin Jan-Eriq Maaß und arbei­te seit über fünf Jah­ren als selbst­stän­di­ger Kame­ra­mann (DoP) und Video­pro­du­cer. Neben Wer­be­pro­duk­tio­nen beglei­te ich regel­mä­ßig Kurz­fil­me und Inde­pen­dent-Pro­duk­tio­nen.

Für unse­re Art Depart­ment Abtei­lung sind wir noch auf der Suche nach einer moti­vier­ten flin­ken und wachen Per­son, die uns beim Ein­rich­ten, Vor­be­rei­ten und NAch­be­rei­ten ver­schie­de­ner Moti­ve zur Hand gehen möch­te. Du bekommst Ein­blick in die ver­schie­de­nen Pro­zes­se, die nebst der schö­nen Gestal­tung auch Teil unse­rer Arbeit sind und wirst in ein sehr auf­ge­schlos­se­nen Team auf­ge­nom­men.
