Orches­ter, Tanz und Video zu einem poe­ti­schen und kör­per­li­chen
Thea­ter­abend.
Aus­ge­hend von einer auto­bio­gra­fi­schen Fami­li­en­ge­schich­te erzählt die
Insze­nie­rung von Erin­ne­rung, Iden­ti­tät und den Aus­wir­kun­gen von Gewalt,
Aus­beu­tung und Mili­ta­ri­sie­rung über Gene­ra­tio­nen hin­weg – von der
Geschich­te des trans­at­lan­ti­schen Skla­ven­han­dels über die USame­ri­ka­ni­sche
Bürgerrechtsbewegung bis zum Zwei­ten Golf­krieg.
Gesucht wird eine Schwar­ze Tän­ze­rin (Dark Skin Reprä­sen­ta­ti­on
erwünscht) für die cho­reo­gra­fi­sche Ebe­ne der Pro­duk­ti­on.
Tanz wird das zen­tra­le erzäh­le­ri­sche Ele­ment und übersetzt Erin­ne­rung,
Trau­ma und Geschich­te in eine kör­per­li­che Spra­che.

RUN, BOY, RUN! com­bi­nes acting, live music, choir, Black orches­tra,
dance, and video into a poe­tic and high­ly phy­si­cal theat­re per­for­mance.
Inspi­red by an auto­bio­gra­phi­cal fami­ly histo­ry, the pro­duc­tion explo­res
memo­ry, iden­ti­ty, and the las­ting impact of vio­lence, explo­ita­ti­on, and
mili­ta­ri­sa­ti­on across generations—from the trans­at­lan­tic slave trade and
the U.S. Civil Rights Move­ment to the Second Gulf War.
We are loo­king for:
A Black con­tem­po­ra­ry dancer (dark-skin­ned per­for­mers espe­ci­al­ly
encou­ra­ged to app­ly) to join the cho­reo­gra­phic ensem­ble of the
pro­duc­tion.
Dance is the cen­tral sto­rytel­ling ele­ment of the per­for­mance, trans­la­ting
memo­ry, trau­ma, and histo­ry into a powerful phy­si­cal lan­guage.
We are loo­king for someone with:
Expe­ri­ence in con­tem­po­ra­ry dance
Strong phy­si­cal expres­si­ve­ness
Strong stage pre­sence
Open­ness to col­la­bo­ra­ting with actors, the choir, and live musi­ci­ans

The audi­tion includes a short con­ver­sa­ti­on, a pre­pared con­tem­po­ra­ry
dance solo (approx. 2 minu­tes), and a short impro­vi­sa­ti­on and move­ment
