Crew call – Short Film “Ver­mis­sung ist da” (Ber­lin, unpaid, 2‑day shoot)

We are loo­king for three crea­ti­ve col­la­bo­ra­tors to join the team for our dia­lo­gue-dri­ven, emo­tio­nal­ly inti­ma­te short film Ver­mis­sung ist da. The film is a cham­ber pie­ce explo­ring memo­ry, siblings, and the invi­si­ble emo­tio­nal archi­tec­tu­re of a fami­ly home.

1) Set Desi­gner /​ Pro­duc­tion Desi­gner

We need someone with a strong sen­se for cha­rac­ter-dri­ven spaces and subt­le visu­al sto­rytel­ling. The film takes place enti­re­ly insi­de an older woman’s apart­ment — slight­ly aged, eclec­tic, car­ry­ing traces of a life lived.

The exis­ting loca­ti­on alre­a­dy includes wild red tones in the walls and fur­ni­tu­re, as well as mixed, mis­mat­ched, but emo­tio­nal­ly char­ged objects. We will start from that and build upon it with stran­ge, poe­tic, slight­ly unsett­ling tou­ch­es in the decor. We want to lean into the imper­fec­tions of the flat to high­light the­mes of memo­ry, inhe­ri­ted cha­os, and emo­tio­nal resi­due.

Gre­at for someone who wants to prac­ti­ce atmo­sphe­ric world-buil­ding on a small bud­get.

2) Cos­tu­me & Make­up (can be two sepa­ra­te roles or one com­bi­ned)

Work with two cha­rac­ters, siblings in their late 20s/​early 30s, both emo­tio­nal­ly loa­ded but res­trai­ned in expres­si­on, as well as with the ward­ro­be of their recent­ly pas­sed mother. Includes work with:

- Sto­ry-first cos­tu­me design
– Tex­tures, muted palet­tes, lived-in clot­hing
– A clean, subt­le make­up approach that enhan­ces emo­tio­nal rea­lism rather than sty­li­zes

Gre­at oppor­tu­ni­ty for someone inte­res­ted in per­for­mance-dri­ven films and mini­ma­list aes­the­tics.

3) 1st Came­ra Assistant /​ Focus Pul­ler

We’re shoo­ting both sta­tic and moving images — pre­cis­i­on in focus and the adja­cent details are cru­cial. We’re loo­king for someone con­fi­dent with:

- Pul­ling focus during per­for­mance-hea­vy dia­lo­gue
– Sup­port­ing a small, agi­le came­ra team
– Stay­ing sharp during long takes with emo­tio­nal weight
