LOOKING FOR A FLINTA* DOP / AUGUST 2026

FAKING IT | Short Film | Berlin | August 2026 | no budget

THE PROJECT
Following years of dissatisfying sexual experiences, two young women set out in search of pleasure elsewhere. What begins as a rejection of conventional ideas of desire gradually becomes a surreal, magical-realist journey.

FAKING IT is a short film (max. 15 min) that combines playful absurdity, feminist humour, and dreamlike visual storytelling. Drawing inspiration from films such as Daisies (Věra Chytilová), Bildnis einer Trinkerin (Ulrike Ottinger), Smithereens (Susan Seidelman), and the photographic work of Alessandra Sanguinetti, we are looking to create a visually distinctive world that feels both anarchic and intimate.

THE VISUAL VISION
We’re interested in a vibrant, tactile, and slightly uncanny visual language that blurs the line between reality and fantasy. The film embraces magical realism, playful visual experimentation, and bold character-driven imagery.
We’re looking for a DOP who is excited by strong visual concepts and enjoys developing a film’s look collaboratively from an early stage.

WHO WE ARE
We are two emerging filmmakers working across disciplines including film, theatre, performance, literature, and visual art. While this project is being developed independently and with very limited funding, we are committed to building work with a high artistic standard and a clear festival strategy.

// Connects with the tone and vision of the project

// Enjoys collaborating closely during development and pre-production

WHY JOIN US?
// Join a visually ambitious, artist-led short film with a strong creative identity and a feminist perspective on pleasure, desire, and the ways young women navigate a world shaped by patriarchal expectations.
// Genuine creative collaboration from an early stage (we want your ideas!)
// A production environment built around curiosity, experimentation, and having a good time making work together (it’ll be fun!)
