Liebe alle,
ich suche einen Producer. Genauer gesagt: einen Partner in Crime, der Lust hat, langfristig mit uns zu arbeiten und nicht nur ein Projekt abzuhaken.
Woran wir gerade arbeiten: zwei Langfilme, mehrere Kurzfilme à 5 Minuten und ein 15 minütiges Horror Musical über eine Endometriose Diagnose und die Absurdität, die damit einhergeht. Meinen Langfilm CHICKS WITHOUT A NEST habe ich beim Kuratorium junger deutscher Film für die Stoffentwicklung eingereicht.

Was wir geil finden: Fleabag, Edgar Wright, Charlotte Regan, Taika Waititi und die Ffern Ästhetik, also warm, handgemacht, ein bisschen aus der Zeit gefallen.
Damit du eine Idee bekommst, wie wir denken, hier drei Sachen, die gerade bei uns auf dem Tisch liegen:
MERMAIDS. Eine 90 sekündige Deadpan Komödie. Zwei Meerjungfrauen sitzen in der Badewanne, mitten in einem übertrieben durchgestylten Wellness Abend, und nehmen ganz nebenbei die Mythen über den weiblichen Körper auseinander. Mythische Wesen, die sich über menschliche Mythen lustig machen.
ASK THE HAIR. Eine 5 minütige Deadpan Komödie über die Beziehung einer Frau zu ihren Haaren, erzählt komplett aus der Perspektive der Haare. Die Haare werden seit Jahren geföhnt, gefärbt, geglättet und generell schlecht behandelt. Irgendwann reicht es ihnen und sie machen ihrer Wut endlich Luft.
ARMOUR. Ein Mockumentary Portrait einer Ritterin, die erzählt, wie anstrengend der Alltag in Rüstung ist und dass sie irgendwann vergessen hat, wie man sie wieder auszieht.
Alle drei funktionieren übrigens auch als Spec, also als Werbeidee für die passende Marke. Wir denken sie bewusst in beide Richtungen.
Was wir suchen: jemanden, der uns bei Finanzierung und Sponsoring unterstützt, also Equipment, Locations und Fördermittel. Am liebsten jemanden, der im Genre zu Hause ist und mit Comedy, Absurdität, weiblichen Perspektiven und Migrationserfahrung etwas anfangen kann.
Wir entwickeln bereits im Team mit Art Direction, Regie und Kamera. Viele Bausteine liegen da. Uns fehlt jemand, der sich in der Produktion auskennt und Spaß daran hat, lustige Geschichten zu erzählen, bei denen man vor Lachen weint und dann einfach weiterweint.
Wir arbeiten dabei nicht nur narrativ, sondern in ganz verschiedenen Formaten: Musikvideos, Werbung, Theater, Serien, Lang und Kurzfilme. Wichtig ist bei allem dasselbe. Eine gute Geschichte und ein starkes Team, das Energie und Lust mitbringt und unter fairen Bedingungen etwas macht, worauf am Ende alle stolz sind.
Uns geht es nicht nur darum, Filme zu machen und auf coolen Festivals zu landen. Das auch, natürlich. Aber wir wollen die Filme online releasen, gute Pressearbeit machen und vor allem ein Team aufbauen, das denselben Mindset teilt. Parallel arbeiten wir an der Serie RED FLAGS, die wir beim Filmfest München bereits gepitcht haben.
Als Producer hilfst du uns vor allem dabei, kreative Wege zu Sponsoren und Finanzierung zu finden und alles Schritt für Schritt auf die Beine zu stellen. Die Langfilme möchte ich bei der FFA und beim Medienboard beantragen. Eine Producer Fee lässt sich dort als Teil der Förderung einplanen.

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a producer. Really I am looking for a partner in crime, someone who wants to build something with us over time rather than tick off one project and move on.
Here is what is on our slate: two features, a handful of 5 minute shorts, and a 15 minute horror musical about getting an endometriosis diagnosis and the absurdity that comes with it. My feature CHICKS WITHOUT A NEST is currently with Kuratorium junger deutscher Film, one of the German public funders, for script development.

To show you how we think, here are three things sitting on our table right now.
MERMAIDS. A 90 second deadpan comedy. Two mermaids in a bathtub, deep into an aggressively curated wellness night, casually taking apart the myths people still believe about the female body. Mythical creatures mocking human myths.
ASK THE HAIR. A 5 minute deadpan comedy about a woman and her hair, told entirely from the hair’s point of view. The hair has spent years being blow dried, dyed, straightened and generally disrespected. One day it snaps and finally says what it thinks.
ARMOUR. A mockumentary portrait of a knight who happens to be a woman, talking us through how exhausting daily life in armour really is, and how somewhere along the way she forgot how to take it off.
All three also work as specs, so if the right brand comes along we can take them in that direction too. We write them with both doors open.
What we need is someone who can help us with financing and sponsorship, so equipment, locations, funding bodies, brands. Ideally someone who already works in genre and gets comedy, absurdity, female perspectives and migration stories.
We are developing as a team already, with art direction, directing and camera in place. Most of the pieces are there. What we are missing is someone who knows production inside out and actually enjoys telling funny stories that make you laugh until you cry, and then leave you crying for a completely different reason.
We do not only work in narrative. We also make music videos, commercials, theatre, series, features and shorts. Whatever the format, the same two things matter to us: a good story, and a team with real energy that works under fair conditions on something everyone ends up proud of.
And this is not just about making films and getting into good festivals, although yes, that too. We want to release online, do proper press, and build a group of people who share the same instincts. Alongside all of this we are developing RED FLAGS, a series we have already pitched at Filmfest München.
As our producer you would help us find creative ways into sponsorship and financing, and work out how to put each project together step by step. The features are heading to FFA and Medienboard, the two big German funding bodies, where a producer fee can be built into the application.
