We are looking for an Production Designer to join our graduation short film from pre-production through to festival.
The film is a 15-minute arthouse short ; two estranged Burmese-German brothers, one day, one apartment, one park. Sparse, specific, emotionally precise. Tonally positioned between Zhang Yimou and Joachim Trier. Directed by Lyan Hein.
The visual world of this film lives in the details — a half-eaten meal, curtains that haven’t been opened in days, the specific loneliness of a rented apartment that was never made into a home. We need someone who understands that production design at this scale is about selection, not decoration.
What we need from you:
— A strong eye for lived-in, culturally specific spaces
— Ability to work resourcefully within a tight budget
— Proactive communication and collaborative spirit
— Someone who can read a script and see a world, not just a set
What we offer:
— A dedicated art department budget for props, set dressing, and locations
— Full creative collaboration and art director credit
— Festival submissions and attendance
— A director with a clear vision who wants a true creative partner
This is an unpaid position. Your department budget is covered. You’ll leave with a festival-bound arthouse short for your portfolio.
If you’re down to earth, proactive, and want to make something real, send us a short intro, your portfolio, and any relevant credits.
