CASTING CALL – 4 ROLES (Playing Age 18–29)
Independent Horror Feature Film (English language) | Baden-Württemberg, Germany
We are looking for actors aged 18–29 to fill four remaining roles in our A24-style independent horror film: one central role and three supporting roles.
Two actors are already attached to the project.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKNG FOR:
Playing age: 18–29
Gender: Male and female; at least two female roles available & 1–2 male roles
Background: Actors of all ethnicities and backgrounds are welcome
English proficiency: C1-C2 English required, as the film will be shot entirely in English. We particularly welcome actors with non-German accents when speaking English, such as French, Spanish, Asian or African international accents, reflecting the diversity of our international student characters. Native English is also welcome
Location: Due to the no-budget nature of our production, we can only accomodate actors who are based in the following states: Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg or Hessen (Frankfurt area only), as well as the Basel, Zürich regions of Switzerland and the Strasbourg region of France.
Strong preference will be given to applicants based in Baden-Württemberg, particularly in the Baden-Baden, Pforzheim, Karlsruhe, and Stuttgart areas.
We are looking for actors who enjoy improvisation and are excited to participate in an open and collaborative creative process.
ROLE DEVELOPMENT & COLLABORATION:
The characters will be developed collaboratively based on our final cast.
We want to work closely with our actors from the beginning, giving them the freedom to contribute their own ideas, impulses, and interpretations. A willingness to improvise and explore new approaches together is therefore especially welcome.
ABOUT THE FILM:
Guests (working title) is an independent horror film combining elements of psychological thriller, slasher, and haunted-house horror.
Six international college students decide to spend the night exploring a hotel that has been abandoned for decades. What begins as a seemingly harmless adventure soon turns into a nightmare.
The film aims to appeal to an international audience, combining an atmospheric visual style with suspenseful mainstream horror storytelling.
The film will be shot over 10 days on location in Baden-Württemberg, Germany sometime (depending on the actors’s availability) between 15 February – 15 March 2027.
FILMING LOCATION:
Filming will take place primarily at an abandoned hotel location in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
We particularly welcome applicants from the surrounding region, especially Pforzheim, Karlsruhe, and Stuttgart.
COMPENSATION – ****PLEASE READ CAREFULLY****
Guests is a no-budget production. There is no acting fee.
We want to be completely transparent about this: unfortunately, we cannot offer financial compensation for the filming days. This project is therefore intended for actors who are comfortable with these conditions and are genuinely interested in being part of a collaboratively developed independent horror film.
We are young filmmakers, trying to make a feature film inspired by The Blair Witch Project, Krisha and Backrooms.
Catering on set and organized transportation to and from the location will be provided.
