In einer Klein­grup­pe von maxi­mal 6 Teil­neh­men­den erar­bei­ten wir gemein­sam Ende Juni effek­ti­ve und schnell umsetz­ba­re Schau­spiel-Tools. An dem Wochen­en­de dreht sich alles dar­um, wie wir über Bewe­gung einen direk­ten Zugang zur Psy­cho­lo­gie unse­rer Figu­ren her­stel­len kön­nen. Im Preis ent­hal­ten sind Arbeits­ma­te­ria­li­en, Cate­ring und pro­fes­sio­nell geschos­se­ne Fotos, die dich beim Pro­ben und auf der Sze­ne zei­gen.
/​/​ Join our upco­ming inter­na­tio­nal acting work­shop end of June. In a small group of up to 8 artists, we are going to work on acting tools that can help us on stage, in front of the came­ra and for cas­tings and audi­tions. Over the cour­se of one weekend, we are going to explo­re how to gain access to our character’s psy­cho­lo­gy through move­ment. Mate­ri­al, hand­outs, cate­ring and pro­fes­sio­nal pho­to docu­men­ta­ti­on are included in the cour­se fee.

I’m attemp­ting to crea­te very authen­tic images to even­tual­ly be published on social media and in gal­le­ries. the aim is to encou­ra­ge peo­p­le to show and pro­cess emo­ti­ons.

I’m drawn to cap­tu­ring emo­ti­ons in a tan­gi­ble way and making fee­lings visi­ble and per­cep­ti­ble to the view­er-show­ing vul­nerabi­li­ty, and espe­ci­al­ly quiet, deli­ca­te yet inten­se emo­ti­ons that are main­ly con­vey­ed through the gaze. For this to be pos­si­ble, I belie­ve a safe and sup­port­i­ve frame­work is nee­ded. That’s why I don’t have rigid ide­as; ins­tead, I would like to meet before­hand for a con­ver­sa­ti­on to see how the pre­sence feels for both of us and to talk about for­ma­li­ties as well as the con­di­ti­ons you need in order to express yours­elf emo­tio­nal­ly.

This could, for exam­p­le, be a spe­ci­fic room or a place in natu­re, clear agree­ments about boun­da­ries and pos­si­bi­li­ties, as well as about the clot­hing in which you feel com­for­ta­ble and would like to be seen-ide­al­ly clas­sic, ele­gant, or vin­ta­ge, wit­hout logos or text. The same appli­es to sty­ling; for this series, it should feel as natu­ral and mini­mal as pos­si­ble, enhan­cing your per­so­na­li­ty and expres­si­on rather than hiding or dis­trac­ting from it.

I would find it beau­tiful if we could crea­te a moment in which you can be com­ple­te­ly yours­elf – as you want to be on that day. The­re is no pres­su­re and no expec­ta­ti­ons; any­thing can hap­pen, not­hing has to hap­pen. If you can ima­gi­ne show­ing sad­ness or grief, I am expli­cit­ly open to that as well.

As a crea­ti­ve frame­work for this series, I envi­si­on por­traits or por­trait-like images in color, usual­ly with direct eye cont­act with the view­er. I pho­to­graph with high-qua­li­ty equip­ment, always wit­hout flash and using an 85 mm prime lens.

Cas­ting Call for eng­lish spea­king actors

A long-term, Medi­en­board-fun­ded dura­tio­nal docu-fic­tion direc­ted by artist and film­ma­ker Rachel Ash­ton. The film fol­lows the working pro­cess bet­ween direc­tor and per­for­mer as actor Cam­mi­sa Buer­haus deve­lo­ps the deli­very of a mono­lo­gue about a woman struck by light­ning seven times, through repe­ti­ti­on and rehear­sal. Film­ed peri­odi­cal­ly over six months with a small crew, the pro­ject unfolds lar­ge­ly in the actor’s Ber­lin apart­ment and a dance rehear­sal stu­dio.

ABOUT THE SCENE
The ope­ning sce­ne will be a sin­gle con­ti­nuous Ste­adi­cam shot las­ting appro­xi­m­ate­ly four minu­tes. Inspi­red by Ray­mond Carver’s short sto­ry ‚What We Talk About When We Talk About Love‘, set in 1981 in New Mexi­co, USA, whe­re the ope­ning sce­ne invol­ves two cou­ples sea­ted around a table, enga­ged in a con­ver­sa­ti­on about love. The sce­ne is staged like a play and is per­for­med by four actors. Cam­mi­sa Buer­haus plays the role of Nick, the nar­ra­tor, who addres­ses the audi­ence direct­ly. The remai­ning three roles, Mel, Ter­ri, and Lau­ra, are what we are curr­ent­ly cas­ting.

Men, inclu­ding cis and non-bina­ry. Aged from 28 to 40. Thin, lan­ky, tall, 6’0″ – the kind of per­son who does not quite know what to do with their lim­bs. Cur­ly hair, always a litt­le unk­empt. The swee­test, most ear­nest per­son. Very love­ly, almost too nice. Open, gent­le, and easy to care for. The kind of per­son who makes you want to pro­tect them, but somehow that beco­mes part of the pro­blem.

ABOUT THE JOB
This is an unpaid oppor­tu­ni­ty. Howe­ver, food, drinks, and snacks will be pro­vi­ded on set and during rehear­sals. The actors we are loo­king for should be Ame­ri­can nati­ve Eng­lish spea­k­ers, or flu­ent Eng­lish spea­k­ers with no noti­ceable accent.

Hey, I’m Xue, a sound desi­gner and com­po­ser based in Ber­lin.

I would real­ly love to crea­te sound and music for ani­ma­ti­ons or short films that I feel con­nec­ted to. I real­ly enjoy the pro­cess of dis­co­ve­ring the right sonic lan­guage for each ani­ma­ti­on or film.
I’m good at lis­tening clo­se­ly to the creator’s con­cept and deve­lo­ping the sound in col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with them. For me, each col­la­bo­ra­ti­on is a way of ente­ring ano­ther person’s thoughts and fee­lings, and that expe­ri­ence feels tru­ly magi­cal. In my sound design, I often work with field recor­dings and sounds from ever­y­day objects. Sin­ce I’m also a pia­nist, I also like to bring acou­stic instru­ments into my work.

I’m espe­ci­al­ly loo­king for­ward to col­la­bo­ra­ting on pro­jects that give sound crea­ti­on more space for expe­ri­men­ta­ti­on.
