For our short film „Anja und das Leben der Pflanzen“ (WT), directed by Thierry Mousset (UDK), we’re looking for you, Set Designers!
The film tells the story of Anja who slowly transforms into a plant. We are visually interested in creating a quiet, physical world around this transformation, with a lot of attention to light, time, stillness and the presence of the plants.
Shooting dates are Oct 17–21 and the location is in Berlin close to Yorckstraße.
It comes down to:
– Conceptualizing and realizing the central location „Anja’s flat“ across multiple stages of transformation
– Sourcing and designing props and set dressing (including a second-hand clothing store as an additional location)
– Close collaboration with director, DP costume and our two flora artists (who are specifically focusing on the plants and their development throughout the film) to create the visual style
– Overseeing the set throughout the shoot, including maintaining continuity across multiple shooting days
We can offer:
– Great catering
– Small budget for props etc.
– A dedicated team and plenty of creative freedom on a visually intersting project
Would be great, but is not mandatory:
– Experience in set design/art direction (portfolio welcome)
– A feel for telling stories through rooms and props
– Creativity, organizational skills, and teamwork
